GOOD NEWS UPDATE! – December 5, 2025
The Yorke Bay area is again open to the public and there are some healthy adult Gentoo penguins in residence! Yorke Bay is again part of your tour.
This is a fun, shared tour which incorporates penguins, fantastic views and some short walks all in the great company of our local guides who will share their knowledge and personal insights of living in a remote part of the world.
If you are arriving on a cruise ship, we will meet you at the tender landing area (Jetty Visitor Centre) for either the 9:00 or noon departure time for the 2.5 hour tour.
We drive through the east end of Stanley and have a brief photo opportunity stop at the wreck of the iconic Lady Elizabeth.
Next stop is Gypsy Cove for a short walk, some great views and to see the Magellanic penguins.
Throughout the tour your guides will provide you with lots of information about the wildlife and life in the Falklands and ensure that you are well cared for and most importantly, have a good time.
Views overlooking Yorke Bay and Stanley harbour as we make our way to the sand dunes and the short walk to the Gentoo penguins at Yorke Bay.
NB: If Yorke Bay is not accessible we will go to the most easterly point of East Falklands, Cape Pembroke. This area is home to the Cape Pembroke Lighthouse currently undergoing restoration and
various wildlife including seals and shore birds.
On the return journey we will pause at the Totem Pole, enjoy vistas overlooking Stanley from Sapper Hill and (time permitting) from Wireless Ridge to the West.
The town tour takes in all the local landmarks and we offer the option to leave the tour at the Museum which is a short walk from the Jetty Visitor Centre, or return to your pick up point.
The tour does involve some walking over uneven ground so is not suitable for wheel chairs or those with mobility aids

A full refund will be provided in any of the circumstances above or if your cruise ship is unable to get into port due to bad weather.
Sharon and the driver were excellent hosts. Sharon, a 6th generation resident of the Falkland’s was so knowledgeable, interesting and funny. Great tour - saw so many penguins and well worth the money! They met us at the port and we were off within minutes. Thanks!
The Guides were very knowledgeable and very professional. Excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble and the information they knew was second to none . Chris MThis was an amazing way to view, learn and experience the Falkland Islands with a limited amount of time. Wendy and Sharon were a great team, sharing their childhood and life experiences in Stanley….even drove us by their houses. It was thoughtful of Sharon to bake us cookies for our snack. I learned a lot and am thankful.
This was a wonderful tour of Stanley in the Falkland Islands! Kaps took us around to Gypsy Cove, Lady Elizabeth ship wreck, and more. We saw penguins, beautiful birds, beaches and so much more. Kaps knows the history of the Falkland Islands and it was a joy to spend several hours with him learning. Highly recommend this tour to anyone stopping by for a short visit!
