About the Team

Sharon Jaffray is a sixth‑generation Islander who has lived in the Falkland Islands all her life.

With more than 20 years’ experience working in tour guiding across the Islands, she brings exceptional local knowledge, a talent for storytelling, and a deep personal connection to the place she calls home.

Alongside her work in tourism, Sharon spent 15 years as Deputy Editor of the Falkland Islands’ local newspaper, Penguin News, helping to document Island life, history, and current affairs and further strengthening her ability to share the stories that make the Falklands so distinctive.

In 2024, Sharon co‑founded Travel Falklands with her partner, Kaps Jiwa, an accountant who came to the Islands on a Government contract in 2019.

Like so many do, he fell in love with the Islands and stayed.

Kaps brings extensive international tourism experience from previously operating a safari tour business in Namibia. Together, they combine Sharon’s deep roots and insight into Island life with Kaps’ global perspective, operational expertise, and love of travel.

Travel Falklands offers guided tours showcasing the Islands’ remarkable wildlife and dramatic landscapes, as well as fully tailored itineraries for land‑based visitors, ensuring every journey is seamless, enriching, and uniquely personal.

The Travel Falklands team of guides and drivers is carefully selected for their local knowledge, customer service, and personality, ensuring guests feel welcomed, informed, and well cared for throughout their stay.

All experiences provide genuine insight into life in this unique British Overseas Territory and the character of its people — delivered with warmth, humour, and a sense of adventure.

“We treat everyone as we like to be treated when we travel,” say Sharon and Kaps.
